    METAL GEAR SOLID V:
    THE PHANTOM PAIN

Here, you’ll see the interesting menus which have a static terminal aesthetic to them. Granted it’s rather similar to that of Battlefield 3, but pleasing nonetheless. The cutscenes and cinematics look and feel authentic and the graphics are top-notch. The first level of the campaign starts in Nicaragua, and quickly escalates into a gunfight. You can see that the player has thermal and night vision at his or her disposal. Also, you can see the glowing outlines of your teammates through solid objects, and your flashlight is easily utilized.

Within the truck was a bomb of which the player ran from. When it exploded, the cinematic made the played fall off the cliff, and presumably die. Quickly, the player finds himself or herself on a US military fort in order to travel to another destination: Sucre, the capital of Bolivia. The player is traveling through tight third-world alleyways and markets, and quickly finds him/herself in yet another gunfight. You can see that not only can you see the glowing wireframe silhouette of your teammates through solid objects, but also red-outlined enemies. As you can see (after the firefight), the stealthy sniping is very satisfying and make the player feel devious. After that, there is yet another firefight. These gun battles pop up frequently and keep the player engaged in the intensity of the game.

The objective menus are easy to read, and relatively straightforward. It displays your mission objective, the parameters (such as “no alert allowed”), and the time limit (if applicable). When you feel your character dragging the objective (person) across the ground while using his or her other hand to shoot the bad guys, you’ll be satisfied beyond anything that you’d get from the generic shooter game. Once you've completed your mission, you feel relieved and full of joy. It’s just fun.
