Sega's official blog just announced a new release date and price tag ("tag" get it?) for the HD remake of one of the Dreamcast's most popular titles: Jet Set Radio. Originally slated for a summer release, JSR was pushed back to an unknown date, until now.
The release dates are different for every console and some will be able to get their hands on this long awaited remake sooner than others. Playstation Plus subscribers will be the first to get it on September 11 and for every other Playstation 3 owner a week later on September 18. Then the next day, on Septermber 19, for Xbox Live and Steam players. Lastly, PS Vita users will be able to get their hands on the game when it's available a whole month later on October 16. All versions of the game will run at about $10 or 800 MSP for Xbox users.
The Sega Dreamcast was a very unique and beloved console. And although it died abruptly only a little over 2 years after its debut, it turned out to house some of the most creative and unique games in Sega's history and arguably some of the overall best in Sega's hitory. Following the tradition of other Dreamcast classics like Sonic Adventure and Space Channel 5 getting the HD treatment, fans waited and hoped that the stylish cel-shaded game was the next in line. Well, the wait is over, now all we need is an HD-fied version of Shenmue to please the rest of the die-hard Dreamcast fans.
