Capcom fans are in for a treat! Street Fighter X Mega Man has been revealed on their Capcom-Unity blog in celebration of both Mega Man and Street Fighter's 25th anniversaries. This 8-bit style title stars Mega Man going up against Street Fighter's memorable (who play the part of robot bosses) cast in true retro form. And in classic Mega Man fashion, you must beat them to acquire their powers and move on to the next stage.
Capcom has always had a close relationship with its fans and this crazy blend of iconic franchises is a perfect example of that. First created by Singapore resident (and obvious Capcom superfan) Seow Zong Hui, the early build of SF X MM impressed Capcom employees so much that they decided to collaborate and help Seow finish the momentous crossover. The game's soundtrack is done by A_Rival and it blends together SF and MM tunes to create unique and undoubtedly amazing 8-bit songs. Flash man mixed with Ryu and Snake Man mixed with Dhalsim for example. Those theme songs are incredible enough on their own, but combined together? Amazing.
Street Fighter X Mega Man is set for for a PC release, delivered through Capcom-Unity's Mega Man page on December 17th. And did I forget to mention the game is free? That's right, free! The best price of them all!
